Handmade Santa Claus Christmas Ornament, Nostalgic Traditional Needle Felted Heirloom, Made to Order
Every Santa Claus ornament I make is carefully handcrafted. They all start as a fluffy tuft of wool. I shape the wool into a ball and then add a chin and forehead to create a head. Then I sculpt Santa's features: eyes first, then nose, cheeks, mouth, and eyelids. Then, each Santa gets bushy eyebrows and a wonderful white beard and hair. I add the hat and trim last, along with a gold thread for hanging.
Santa Claus ornaments are made from multiple varieties of wool and silk. They have glass eyes, white wool beards, and natural silk accents. They are about three inches tall and hang from a gold thread.
Aside from his glass eyes, every part of this Santa is needle felted, which means he takes hours to create. This is why I require two weeks of processing time for every order. This means that they will not ship until one to two weeks after you check out! This processing period does not include weekends or holidays. I always try my best to make every Santa worth the wait!
Santa Claus ornaments are needle felted. Needle felting is the process of using a barbed needle to join fibers together. When the fibers are stabbed with the needle, the barbs cause the fibers to entwine. Artists vary the depth, direction, and pressure of the stabbing in order to transform loose fiber into sculptures. This often takes many, many hours.
Santa Claus ornaments are not a toy for small children. As the beloved symbol of the magic of Christmas, Santa is very, very busy this time of year does his best work away from tiny hands and paws.
